Join us at Kinnerton as an Asset Care Engineer, where you'll be an integral part of our factory operations. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around maintaining our machinery, ensuring smooth production by addressing breakdowns promptly and implementing necessary corrective measures. Additionally, you'll be pivotal in executing planned maintenance activities to enhance the performance and quality of our equipment. Collaborating closely with a team of two Asset Care Engineers during your shift, under the guidance of the Asset Care Lead Engineer, you'll tackle daily tasks and priorities effectively.

Responsibilities

We're on the lookout for an Asset Care Engineer with a blend of mechanical and electrical expertise, capable of upholding impeccable standards. Ideally, our ideal candidate will possess knowledge of Food Safety and Health & Safety standards, coupled with strong IT skills. Previous experience working with a diverse range of machinery is highly desirable, including but not limited to:

  • High-speed baggers
  • High-speed Multi-head weighers
  • Sonic weld netting machines
  • Pallet wrappers
  • Cooling tunnels
  • Modular belt conveyors
  • Vibratory feed hoppers
  • Belt checkweigh systems
  • Chocolate drop depositors
  • Dragee coating/polishing pans
  • Chocolate drop rollers
  • Mixer tanks
  • Chocolate gear pumps
  • Chocolate Lobe pumps

 

Your daily tasks will include:  

  • Ensure that the reactive work that is completed is done to a standard that maintains Quality and does not increase risk to contamination.
  • Undertake works orders and take direction from the Asset Care Lead Engineer.
  • Ensure that all PPM’s are completed and any risks to this completion escalated to the Asset Care Lead Engineer.
  • Work with the Asset Care Lead Engineer in optimising and critiquing the CMMS system and to drop out none value adding tasks.
  • Ensure all company H&S policies are implemented and maintained.
  • Audit the contractor control policy, ensuring full adherence to site policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all relevant data is submitted into the CMMS system.

 

You will work a total of 41 hours per week, following the below shift pattern:

  • Week 1: 18:00 – 06:00 Sunday to Tuesday, 06:00 – 14:00 Saturday
  • Week 2: 06:00 – 18:00 Monday to Tuesday, 18:00 – 06:00 Wednesday to Thursday
  • Week3: 06:00 – 18:00 Wednesday to Thursday, 06:00 – 15:00 Friday

Qualifications

Essential

  • Multi-skilled engineering apprenticeship
  • CMMS experience
  • Logical thought process with good communication skills at all levels
  • Proactive approach
  • Ability to work well within fast-moving production environment where flexibility is key
  • A strong work ethic with a can-do attitude and the ability to work as part of team as well as on their own initiative
  • FMCG experience (Updated training will be provided on Food Safety etc) 

 

Desirable

  • HNC / HND Qualification
  • HACCP (training can be provided) 
  • Health & Safety IOSH/NEBOSH 
  • Metal Detection training (training can be provided)  
  • PLC programming skills
  • Flow wrapper experience
  • Bag former experience
